My Street
You are to produce a short related series about the street where you live; paying particular attention to what’s actually involved in location photography and assessing/acting upon lighting requirements.
Location Report:
the Location i will be shooting at is the street where I am Currently living. I am planning to take shots during the day in the afternoon, this will give me the best light conditions as I am planning to use sunlight/natural light. Because of this the weather is a very important as i will not have the best light conditions on a cloudy day.
Pre shoot Report:
The location is the street in which i am currently living in so i am very comfortable with taking shots. It is actually a cul de sac so it will be very unlikely that i will see anybody who is not happy with me taking photographs.
The street will be very quite during the day as most of the residents go off to work in the morning and come back in the evening.
These are the shots I took of my street and they are displayed in a certain order which kind of bring you into the street.
My working style was influenced by the photographers William Egglestone and Stephen Shore.
Some of their images were shot in the mid 1970s and the way the light and composition were used worked so well with the street that i live in. purely because of the housing style and the fact that it is a fairly modern estate.
It seems to be quite simple and everything is quite similar in some ways, pictures i have looked at don't include any subjects/people and this is how I chose to work as well.
